Even the ladies’ toilet impressed me enough to get a photo! The gold leaf wallpaper with detailed pictures of flowers and birds is stunning. The ceiling of flowers was gorgeous, and the lighting was amazing.
The men’s toilets were not as exciting as the ladies’, but they were still well-designed. Make sure you pay a visit to The Ivy Winchester loos! You won’t be disappointed.

Our Review
We visited on a weekday at lunchtime and managed to get in without a booking, so booking is not essential. However, if you are going at the weekend or in the evening, it would be best to make a reservation.
Offered a choice of outdoor or indoor seating, we chose indoors. Our coats were taken from us and stored whilst we were quickly shown to our seats.
Our waiter was very pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in hearing about our visit to the Royal Green Jackets Museum. He got our drinks and then took our food order.
Starter
We started our meal with the Coriander and Lime Calamari Fritti, which came with spiced mayonnaise.
Mains
For our mains, Kay had The Ivy Shepard’s Pie, made from slow-braised lamb and beef mince topped with rich cheese mash and served with red wine sauce. It was mouthwateringly good. Perfect with a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio.
Meanwhile, Luke had a Duck Curry, a coconut-based Keralan sauce with chilli, choy sum, sweet potato and jasmine rice. It was so delicious that Luke didn’t even want to share
Desserts
For dessert, Kay had the chocolate bombe served on top of vanilla ice cream, a very impressive dessert where hot salted caramel sauce is poured over the dome-shaped chocolate to reveal a honeycomb centre. I only got the shot after the sauce was poured!
Luke had mixed frozen berries with yoghurt sorbet, which is served with a warm white chocolate sauce. Which defrosts the berries.
Both of our desserts were also fantastic; we loved the way the hot sauce mixed with the cold desserts.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at The Ivy Winchester. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent.
The Ivy Winchester Brasserie is the place to eat in Winchester when you want to treat your loved ones or for a dinner date.
